Great Weekend

The weekend was awesome. The weather was perfect & the pace of life was refreshingly slower. Friday night was spent with friends. Saturday the church did what the church should and pitched in to help a family with some construction at their home as they prepare for the arrival of twins. We got a lot accomplished in a short period of time and really enjoyed each other's company. Seth's first baseball scrimmage was Saturday afternoon, and then I showed some houses. I'm pretty sure one of those showings will result in a closing in May. :)
Sunday morning at Dayspring was amazing. I haven't experienced that kind of worship since being at a black church in Toledo. It was one of those Sundays when no one wants to leave, and God spoke powerfully to His people. What a privilege to be there.
The rest of the day was spent at home, enjoying the family, our neighbors, and the sunshine. We played baseball with some neighbor boys, went for a walk, sat and talked, I got re-acquainted with my hammock, and we built a fire and had hot dogs and smores with neighbors to end the day.
I really like what God is doing in our lives these days.

Intense Two Weeks

So much has happened in the last two weeks:
The community worship event at BGHS was awesome. It was great to see the Stetlers and worship with a lot of people who are on the same journey.
I've thoroughly enjoyed preaching at St. Mark's Lutheran & St. John's Episcopal Churches & the Wood County Jail. Looking forward to being at Dayspring this week. I never cease to be amazed at the open doors for ministry.
Increased business opportunites. God is providing!!!
Impact World Tour came to BG this week and a few hundred people became Christians!
Motorcycle rides with Seth. Beautiful.
Seeing Seth & Shani play with new neighbors and loving sunny days.
Learning to say "no" to good things to have time for the best things. (still growing with this one!)

Happy Easter, Christians!!!

The last couple of days have been fertile soil for some significant growth in my life. Yesterday afternoon I went to the BG Community Good Friday service. During one portion of the service, various Bible translations of Isaiah were read. The one verse that hit me like a ton of bricks was that Jesus did not open his mouth. He did not open his mouth. The God who spoke the world into existence could have, with a single word, ended it all. Yet, he was silent. He did not feel compelled to justify himself in the eyes of others. He knew Who he was and that was enough.

Chris & Sara came over tonight. One thing that has been on my mind (and Sarah's) this week is a deep sadness over the times I have spoken when I should have been silent. If you have ever been hurt by any careless words I have spoken, I sincerely apologize.

As we celebrate our Risen Savior (who only said what the Father told him to say) Happy Easter!!
